Summary of ART and DESIGN

The article Art and Design: What is the big difference, considers about the manner of the definition between the distinction on both of them, such as the different purpose, different manner of make, different criteria for judgment the successfulness, different audience and different material. To begin with the purpose of art and design, art is un-usefulness in term of functions whereas design is certainly on usability and utilitarian to people. On the manner of making, there is start from nothing which is the beginning and the end of art piece comes together. On the other hand design starts from lots of components in an environment then arrange them as the ingredients. Differently criteria for judgments, people can judge the art piece by beauty whereas the achievement of successfulness on design by working itself or solving desirable to people. In addition, art has the strongly audience which is just satisfy on them. Design’s audience need information and new things and different things. The last different is material, artist can substitute their materials freely because there own itself in contrast designer have to substitute material during the design process.

Blog one

Time fly by as usual, one month passed so quickly and I have already finished block one. Through blog one was filled with knowledge in an academic study that was consist of an academic writing, an academic vocabularies, presentation and an academic reading. There is an essential knowledge for further education in Master degree here.

To begin with the manner of the method in academic writing style which focused on an essay. There was difference from my last experience in English language school. Study hard on the essay should be necessary at me and improve grammar as well. Also the presentation, there was three presentations which were stand front of our classmate. The body language was important equipment, which had to improve. Discussions were set on our class as our routinely in class. Classmate usually shared an idea that means speaking is so important skill on discuss situation which is so necessary skill in Master degree.

So many mistakes at me from started until finished the course, I think I have to study more hard and hard. A lot of mistakes have still shown on my essay or speaking until today. Grammar is my biggest weak point for me. I will make more attempts to improve on the English skills and more self study as Steffie said. I know that i could not improve my English skill in a month but I will try to do heavier work on it. Hopefully I can solve my mistake in English skill and pass blog two soon.

China design now

According from the listening about China Design now. There was a first Chinese design exhibition in the UK museum, which is considered about creativity of modern china. In addition China had been changed by Olympia in 2008 such as building and fashion. That had shown in this exhibition, which was talking about the journey of China culture through the China coach line which start from the far south; Shenzhen which had a develop graphic project. Next move to Shanghai to learn about fashion and lifestyle. At last terminated at Beijing where had monumental architecture for the Olympic Game.

Furthermore, there is the new magazine project which Omhing who was a main project figure. Also, he was a designer, a curator and a filmmaker on this project. The project attempted to avoid being a follower of Hong Kong public. So the magazine can help Chinese people to select music by yourself as an independence music culture.

Through the film, in the mood of love, which was published in 2000. There explained the China styled in the past. The movie shown lifestyle of Shanghai young women in the middle class and reflect Chinese culture. Jang shoung ar who was jewelry and furniture designer said that movie presented in the period of 1920-1930 which represented new mood which was a reaction against to economic in Shanghai which is consider about the art of living.

In the Olympic 2008, the control centre Olympic has an inspired by digital age which was microchip. The architecture, Jupe created simple and cleaning shape building as barcode in the concept of “full high technology but using less low technology approached” which is much breath and direct to Chinese people. On the other hand people said that the building is non-building because their spaces created for machine space not a human.
